Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup crumbled authentic Greek feta cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/2 cup tomato purée
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled feta, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and egg.
Gently fold ingredients until just combined and form into four equal patties.
Press a small dimple into the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
Heat olive oil in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the patties for 4-5 minutes per side until a deep golden-brown crust forms and the meat is cooked through.
Remove patties from the skillet and set aside.
Reduce heat to medium-low, add tomato purée to the same skillet, and simmer for 2 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and fresh basil until the sauce is velvety and combined.
Pour the tomato cream sauce over the burgers before serving.
Notes
Ensure you do not overmix the meat to keep the texture light. You can serve these patties over a bed of baby spinach or zucchini noodles to keep the meal strictly keto-friendly.
